Most remodel calls start with carpet coming out of a living room or hallway. The question is what is underneath and how the new floor meets what is next to it. We pull the old flooring, inspect and level the subfloor, and lace new boards into existing hardwood where they meet so there is no threshold strip.
If the existing floor is worth keeping, we can install to match its species and width, then sand and finish the whole area together so old and new take the same stain and sheen. If the existing floor is a different species or the client wants a fresh look, we use a clean transition detail and refinish the rest to coordinate.
We handle the small things that make a remodel feel finished: flush stair nosings, vent covers cut from the same flooring, and baseboard reinstalled tight to the new floor height.
