Aleksey Shkarin started Everlast Hardwood Floors in 2006 and has been on the sander ever since. The company is still just him and the floors, and that is on purpose.
Everlast Hardwood Floors, Inc. is a one-trade company. No carpet, no tile, no vinyl. Since 2006 the work has been hardwood: installing it in new homes and remodels, bringing old floors back with a sand and refinish, matching stain colors, repairing water damage for insurance claims, and helping homeowners choose the right floor before they buy it.
Aleksey grew the business in Tacoma and now runs it from Yelm, in the southeast corner of Thurston County where the prairie meets the Nisqually. Most of the work is within an hour of home: Yelm, Rainier, Lacey, Olympia, Roy, Spanaway, Graham, Puyallup and Tacoma, with jobs in Lewis, Mason and south King County when the project is right.
The South Sound is hard on wood floors. Long wet winters push crawl-space humidity up, forced air heat dries the house out on top, and floors move. After 20 years of installing and repairing floors in this climate, Aleksey knows which products, widths and installation methods hold up here and which ones come back as a repair call. That experience is the main thing you are hiring.

Owner on every job
Aleksey quotes the work, does the work and stands behind it. There is no crew you have never met showing up on install day.
Meter before you commit
Moisture readings on the subfloor and the wood before installation, and thickness checks before a refinish. Guessing is how floors fail.
Say no to bad jobs
A floor too thin to sand or a slab too wet to glue to gets an honest no and a better option, not a quote that will come back to bite you.
Finish is a craft
Three-cut sanding, hand edging, screened between coats. The difference shows up in raking light across a window, where a rushed floor shows every wave.
